What does it mean for a mortal people to live in the presence of a holy God? Continuing the exploration of Leviticus, this sermon examines the laws of purification, the distinctions between clean and unclean, and the boundaries God established for His people. From dietary laws and bodily impurity to the cleansing of the sanctuary on the Day of Atonement, we discover that these instructions reveal more than ritual requirements. They teach us about God's holiness, humanity's mortal and corruptible condition, and the need for cleansing and restoration. Ultimately, these patterns lead us to Jesus Christ, whose holiness overcomes our mortality and points forward to the resurrection, when the corruptible will put on incorruption and God will dwell with His people forever.
