Knowledge, Understanding, and Wisdom

The Bible, God’s perfect revelation to humanity, teaches us true knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, and exhorts us to seek all three. The sermon is partly summarized by the plaque in from of UCG’s Home Office, which reads: “The Word of God is the Foundation of Knowledge.” The Bible’s greatest emphasis is on wisdom, which is partly the wise application of knowledge and understanding. Many smart and formally educated people lack true wisdom! God is in the process of humbling the world by choosing disciples who are not considered the wise of the world and giving them the gift of the highest level of wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:26-31).
