This sermon addresses the basic cause of division among brethren. Little has changed since the second century when division entered the fledgling church. The Catholic Church stopped this by adopting a dictatorship form of government like the Roman Empire. The Protestant Reformation broke this stranglehold and now multiple thousands of different Christian persuasions exist.
The concept of moral equivalence is used to justify division. Adherence to Godly principles based in Godly love is what prevents division.
