We have a choice to make in our lives, just like Lot had a choice to make in his life.  We can choose to move towards or away from God.  We do not want to move towards the East, toward a destructive and sinful life, like Lot did.  We don't want to become so callous and hardened in our hearts that the evil of this world does not affect us in any way.
