There is great moral and religious skepticism around us. Modern Christianity can present a perplexing mix of arcane theology, technical divinity and higher criticism. Once we depart from basic scriptural principles, we end up relying on our own reasoning, which results in confusion and division.
We need to stay with the trunk of the tree. Just read the Book, basing our faith on the rock of Jesus Christ. Follow His example. Do what He did. Living according to the moral core summarized by Jesus in His life and in His teaching of the disciples is the only Way to go. When we depart from the trunk of the tree, we have started climbing a ladder on the wrong wall.
