The Oneness of God

This sermon discusses the statement in the Shema "…the Lord our God, the Lord is one". How can God be "one" when both Father and Son are God? The word "one" in Hebrew is "Echad", having 3 primary meanings; "Alone", "First", "United". This statement is not a declaration on the Nature of God, but rather a statement regarding the nature of the relationship between God and His people. Each of the 3 meaning for Echad add to the magnitude of that relationship.
