Our lives are often influenced by human nature, which tends to be self-indulgent, inward-focused, and sinful, drawing us away from God. This stands in contrast to the godly nature we are called to cultivate. Henry David Thoreau, an American philosopher, once said, "As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To create a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To create a deep mental path, we must repeatedly think the thoughts we want to dominate our lives." Understanding the internal struggle within us, the question becomes: which path will we follow? Ultimately, it comes down to choice—will we allow passion or reason to guide our mental pathways?
