The finely tuned creation is a fact that no one can deny. It is undeniable proof that God exists. The suffering, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ are also proven by many non-Christian historians. These are two solid proofs that atheists cannot deny the existence of God and His endless love for humanity.

Today I'm giving a sermon which is slightly different. You could call it, Does God Exist? And obviously we all know that God does exist, but I've decided to call it slightly different. And the title I've chosen for the message is The Perfectly Tuned Creation and God's Love for Mankind. And you might wonder, what have the two got to do with one another? But you'll see as I go along. The reason I'm giving you the sermon is because sometimes in our conversation with people in the world, in society, we find people that say, well, you can't prove that God exists or, you know, God is uncaring and loving. Why is they suffering? God doesn't exist because of that. And today I want to mention to you two specific areas that are valuable that could help you in defending your faith about God. And so I'm going to basically stick to verifiable, proven facts that you can use to defend your faith. As a matter of interest, I did a Google search on how many people, how many Google results are there on the question, is God real? Now, years ago when I did that, it would say so many hits. Now it comes and says, the AI overview says, and I say, oh, okay. So I ask the question is, how many people search for that criteria? So the AI overview said, it's approximately, you know, how many hits do you have on that question? It's approximately 3.7 billion results. So it is a very common question. In fact, it said that that question is searched more than 200 times a second. So there's a lot of people out there 200 times a second are asking Dr. Google, is God real? Now, I said, well, we're talking about AI, so let me ask chat GBT. Now, you probably know what chat GBT is. So I asked chat GBT, is God real? And chat GBT came up to me and said, well, there's four perspectives. And then he goes, one is religious, blah, blah, blah, blah, and then he gives you another one is scientific, a whole lot of other things. And he says, another one is philosophical, another one. And he says, and another one is a personal perspective. But then he concludes and he says, the answer depends on your perspective. And I don't believe the answer depends on your perspective. I believe the answer depends on the THE truth. That's the answer, the truth. And that, therefore, reminded me of Second Thessalonians chapter two. So let's go there briefly because in Second Thessalonians chapter two, it talks about the man of sin coming up and deceiving people. So Second Thessalonians chapter two, and I'm going to start reading through verse nine. And it says, the coming of that lawless one, that man of sin, is according to the working of Satan with all power, signs, and lying wonders. So it'll be amazing miracles. And with all unrighteous deception, it was to deceive people to lie among those who perish because they did not receive the love of THE truth. Now, for you and I, the meaning, the truth has very profound significance. But for people in the world, the truth might just be as simple as what is a man and what is a woman, because that's the truth. Or it may be questions like, is God real? And people don't love the truth. So the word of truth can be very, very overreaching with a great, great significance. But the point is, people in the world do not love the truth. And that is very significant. Now, as I started researching on the subject, we find different arguments ranging from Stephen Hawking. Stephen Hawking wrote this book, The Grand Design. And he basically says that the laws of physics can explain the existence of the universe without requiring a God.
How can you be deceived? And then I went into other research, and the other one is by Richard Dawkins. And Richard Dawkins wrote another book called The God Delusion. And he is an evolutionary biologist, and he sees no scientific evidence for God. In other words, he's an atheist, which means somebody which does not believe in the existence of a God. Now, the subject is addressed very carefully and deeply in the Church's booklet, Does God Exist? There are a number of copies out there that you're welcome to take. If you haven't read it, I strongly recommend you to read it. And if you have read it, I strongly recommend you to reread it, because it is good for you to know the facts, how to combat atheists about this question. That 3.3 billion results are there about it, and that people ask about 200 times a second. Now, today, I'm not going to touch on any of the things that I mentioned in our booklet. So I'm going to go into additional, verifiable, scientifically verifiable facts. And this will probably be beneficial to some of our young people and young adults as they go to school, or to college, or to universities, and they confront it with these questions, and they need to defend the faith. And they need facts, proofs, verifiable, provable proofs that are undeniable by atheists. And so these two basic points that I'm going to be covering are, number one, that the fine-tuned creation proves an awesome God, proves that there is a God. The creation being very finely tuned. I'm not even covering how finely tuned is our human body. That could be an interesting subject for you to research, which is amazing. But the fine-tuned creation proves an awesome God. And secondly, the suffering, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that God is caring. These are two important points that people that don't believe in God say, well, you can't prove that God exists. And then they say, well, they're suffering, they for God doesn't care. And so these are two important points which are related, but they cover very completely different provable facts that we will be addressing. So let's look at the very finely tuned creation, which proves that God is an amazing creator. Finely tuned. I'm not just proving that creation proves that a God exists. I'm saying that creation is finely tuned so that there can be life on planet Earth. There is another interesting book, which I got, which is by an individual called Lee Strobel. Now, some of you have heard of the name. He is a man that was an atheist, and he searched for truth, and he proved that God is real. So he became what we call today a so-called Christian. But he says in this book on page 36, he says the very physics of the universe are so finely tuned that they defy the explanation that the universe is merely the result of chance. And he then says that virtually every scientist agrees that the universe is finely tuned. Now, therefore, it is a very solid fact that you can use to prove that God exists. So let's look at a few points that the universe is finely tuned. The amount of matter. And he said, what do you mean the amount of matter? Now, he addresses that on page 39 of his book, and he says if there was too much matter, the whole universe, due to gravity, gravity would collapse. On the other side, if there was too little matter, then stars and planets will never coalesce, and you would not have different stars. And that he says it's tuned to one part in five trillions. In other words, there's one with a 10 to the power of 60 zeros.
Matter, how much matter is in the universe, is finely tuned. Okay, let's look at another point. The nuclear force. Now, when you think about nuclear force, you may think, oh, atomic bombs. Well, no, it's talking about the nucleus of an atom. When you look at an atom, there's a nucleus in the atom, and there's a force that keeps that nucleus together in the atom. Now, if that force that keeps that nuclear, the nucleus of the atom, would be 2% stronger, there would be more elements in the periodic table.
Now, if you've studied chemistry at school, you know what I mean by periodic table. You know, it's a table of elements, and there's, you know, it's a very interesting subject. Maybe boring to some of you. But anyway, if it was stronger, you would end up having more elements in that table.
But they would be highly radioactive and will destroy life. Wow! That little atom, the force that holds that nucleus together, if it was just 2% stronger, there'll be more elements, and therefore there'll be more radioactivity, and will destroy life. But if it was just 5% less, all that you would have is hydrogen. You couldn't have the other elements. All you'd have is just one element, hydrogen. Because you know, hydrogen is the first one in the periodic table, right? So that is carefully balanced. Now, if you look a little bit more into the atom, you get to a thing called the quarks.
Well, you probably never heard of it, because many years ago in school they wouldn't teach you. Not because they wouldn't teach you. They didn't know about it. But there is this quark which makes up, these little quarks, make up the electrons, ababibaba, the neutrons, and the protons. Those elements are components that are in the atom. The protons, which make it positive, and the neutrons, which are neutral. Now, if the mass of the quark, which you can imagine is a tiny thing that, as I said, when I went to school, they didn't even know it existed, so it wasn't even covered.
If that mass is changed by somewhere between 2 to 3%, there would be no carbon in the universe. Now, these are facts that scientists will tell you. Yeah, it's true. You can't deny it. I'm not guessing it. Now, if you've done chemistry and things about, you'll see that all those chemistry formulas are around with seas, you know, seas and different atoms of seas, because carbon, carbon is the foundational element in the molecular structure for ourselves.
If there's no carbon, all living organisms require carbon. And so, without carbon, you and I will not be sitting on our chairs today, because we couldn't live. And so, that mass of the quark has to be exact so that supports life. Now, let's look at some other things. You have heard about electromagnetic force, but the Earth is called the electromagnetic force, the other planets have, and then there is another force called gravitational force. Now, they are finely tuned, the electric magnetic force with the gravitational force, to one part in ten thousand trillion trillion trillion.
They finally tuned the balance between the electric magnetic force and the gravitational force. It's tuned to one part in ten thousand trillion trillion trillion. Now, how much is ten thousand trillion trillion trillion? You know, trillion is a big number. You know, if you think about the national debt when you talk about a couple of trillion, but now you're talking about trillions of trillions of trillions ten thousand times.
Did you get an idea how much that is? Okay, you know what a dime is? A little coin, a dime. Now, imagine that you got the North American continent. You know what the North American continent is? That includes Mexico, the United States, and Canada, the North American continent. And you now have a billion North American continents. Now, there's a lot of area, a billion of these North American continents covering a huge area.
Now, a billion is a lot, right? But now you take that and you lay it up with dimes. Dimes. And now you've got a million North American continents covered up with dimes, little dime coins. Now, that's a lot of dimes, but it doesn't end there.
You've got to pile them up all the way to the moon. In other words, a billion North American continents with dimes piled up all the way to the moon full of dimes. Now, that's a lot of dimes.
Now you take one of those dimes in the middle and you paint it red. Just one. In those, you know, billion of continents piled up with dimes all the way to the moon, which you know, it's 238,000 miles distance. Stacks of dimes. You have one red one somewhere in the middle. Now, you ask a person that is blindfolded to go to that pile of dimes and pick one, and he just has one chance to pick up that red one. What is the probability? Well, that is the probability of 10,000 trillion trillion trillion. That is the ratio of precision between the electromagnetic force and the gravitational force. You know, brethren, you and I read in Romans chapter 1 verse 20. Romans chapter 1 verse 20. And it says, these people, they knew God. They knew God. These scientists know these facts. They know better than you and I. For since the creation of the wall, his invisible attributes are clearly seen. These scientists know better. Being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, the power of finally tuning the earth and the universe. So that they are without an excuse. And then he says, they exchanged the truth. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie. And you look at it. I don't have to read that section to you. And they end up giving themselves up to vile passions. Woman with woman and men with men and all the other things because they don't want to know God because that gives them an excuse. They can do whatever they want. Now, but I only covered three little finely tuned points.
Now, there was a moment of creation when earth was created. However God did it, you and I don't know. But it was created. Scientists call it a big bang, whether it is that or not. But the point is, at that moment, at that moment, the extraordinary precision, it was fine-tuning, needed at that moment was 10 to the power of 125. And the other one I talked about to the power of 60. Now this is even more, power of 125. In other words, if, let me give you an example, if you're able, and there's so many zeros, you know, zeros, zeros, zeros, zeros. Now, if you're able to put a zero, one of those zeros, in every particle of the universe. I'm not talking about planet earth, of the universe. That's what mankind kind of estimates the universe is, right? So if you were able to put a zero in every particle of the universe, there would not be enough particles to put all the zeros. That is finely tuned.
That is so amazing that Lee's trouble calls it here on page 42, that it says it's so finely tuned, it's so sensitive to minor alterations to numbers, it has to have been carefully thought out, and it is a most compelling evidence for cosmic design. God is a designer, he designed with great precision.
But let's look at an example. The earth is so remarkably suited for human life, and it is situated exactly in the universe, exactly in the universe, so that life is possible. I'm not talking about another planet that's got the same size and dimensions. So let's look at it in a little bit more detail. The earth must be in the right kind of galaxy. You know, there are many galaxies. We live in one galaxy called the Milky Way. The earth has to be in the right kind of galaxy. In other words, it has to be a spiral galaxy. There are other types of galaxies, which gives the right wreck or the correct radiation and the correct proportions for heavy metals, you know, so it can have iron and other things on planet Earth. If the earth, therefore, not only just in the correct type of galaxy, but if the earth was too close to the center of the galaxy, because you know the earth is not in the center of the Milky Way, you'll probably think, oh well, it should be in the center, kind of logical, no? Well, if it was, there would have been too much radiation on planet Earth. But if it's too far from the center, there would not be enough heavy elements. And then you look at another case, the sun. The sun must be of a certain age. In other words, it must have been burning for a certain amount of periods so that its luminosity is stable, stabilized. The sun must also be what they call a bachelor sun. In other words, you have some suns. There are binary. There are two suns with planets around them. The sun must be of a kind that supports planets around it, like the earth, and that supports carbon-based life. Okay, so we talked about the galaxy, talked about the sun. What about the earth? The earth must be at the right correct distance from the sun. It must be at the right rotational rate of the earth. It must have the right correct amount of water. It must have the correct tilt, and it must be the right size so gravity is such that it allows gases like methane to escape, but allows oxygen to remain.
Now let's look at the moon. It's very rare for planets to just have one moon, but it is important to have just one moon because it stabilizes amongst many things. You can see, but one thing alone, it stabilizes the earth's tilt. See, the earth's got a tilt, and as it goes around the sun, it keeps that tilt. The moon stabilizes that. It's just amazing. And then you think, oh well, you get earthquakes because there's tectonic plates activity, right? But you realize that there must be tectonic activity to drive biodiversity on a planet, to help water and move and to have therefore continents, and to generate the earth's magnetic field. This again is in this book on page 43. And then you have planets which are huge like Jupiter, and Jupiter is important because attracts, because of its gravity, attracts comets and meteors that move them away from planet Earth. It attracts them and changes their route, their direction. And then another thing, you put all these things together. We're talking about many different conditions to have a planet like Earth that supports life. Now the probability of having another planet like Earth supporting life is 10 to the power 304. I remember we talked about the power of 100. That was all these dimes all the way to the moon. We talked about the precision at the moment of creation was to the power of 125. Now the probability of having another planet like Earth is 10 to the power of 324. So basically the odds of having another planet is one in a million trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion. You've got to say trillion 23 times. One in 23 times trillions. It basically means it will never happen. And so in Isaiah 45 verse 12, Isaiah 45 verse 12, it says, I have made earth, the earth, and I created man in it. It's a casual quote-unquote statement right now, just made earth. Brethren, it says, my hands stretched out the heavens. The heavens are stretched out. And all the hosts I have commanded and I've raised him up in righteousness, and I'll direct all his ways, etc., talking about Christ now. But the point is, God has made it. The Father gave the instruction to Christ, and Christ did it. Christ is the creator, under the instruction, the command of the Father, using the power of God, God's Holy Spirit, to do that. And then he says in verse 18 of the same chapter, for thus is the Lord who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who established it. We just set it up, that it's stable, it stays there, and maintains it, finally tuned, who did not create it in vain. There is a purpose. There is a purpose, brethren. Now, I didn't even start talking to you about DNA, because that will take me another hour. It is amazing. DNA is basically a language. It's a programming language. It's like words, like you put words into it. It's instructions. It requires a mind. And that shows God's superb mind, superb thinking. In these six feet of tightly coiled string of DNA, every one, every one of your body and my body, in every cell of your body, and your body, my body has about 100 trillion cells. Everyone has got that DNA.
And it provides all the genetic information to create all the proteins and everything else for your body to function, upon which your body is built. So, I didn't even talk about that. Now, in Hebrews 11 verse 3, Hebrews 11 verse 3, Hebrews 11 verse 3, we read, By faith we understand that the walls were framed by the Word of God. Yes, God spoke, and it happened. And yes, you and I can put various layers into the meaning of spoken. One possible layer is that it put that instruction set into the DNA, and in a sense, it's God's Word encoded there for our bodies. Now, DNA, I mean, there was another man that, for all his life, was an atheist. For all his life. He's a very well-known atheist. His name is Anthony Flew. And he wrote a book, There is No God. Fascinating book. This is probably a book you should read. I mean, the other one, Is God Real? is also an interesting one by Lyss Treble. But this one, There is No God. And he scratches it, and he says, There is a God by Anthony Flew. He, as I mentioned, he was an atheist. But he always searched for truth. And he always had a problem with understanding. And I'll come to that in a moment. But he searched, and he came to a point when he understood and he studied DNA. It was his understanding of DNA that to him made him to conclude that there is a God. He said, the evidence leads conclusively to God. Because it's a mind, it's words, it's a verb, it's a language, an instruction set. It's like a program. It's an instruction set. A program doesn't involve, a program does not evolve. It's people that have written programs that have written that program. That is a program. It's mind power. And therefore, when he really understood DNA, he came to say that he's a God. But, and so in this book he shows how he came to change his mind. After many years of being an atheist.
But he left with the question. And he doesn't have the answer when the book's finished. He left with that question. I believe there's a God. But he kind of says, seeing that there is a God, why is there evil in the world? It's a good question. And he never really got to understand it. He says, the existence of pain, and I quote here from his book, the existence of pain seems to count against the truth that God loves mankind. To his mind, the contradictory. So, Fleur was left with the question, why is there suffering if God is loving? Good question. He even says, because people told him, well, there's free moral agency. And he says, free moral agency, in his words, is a lame excuse. Wow. Because he says, God could have made it different if he really cared. Wow. So he puts God and says, yes, there's a God, but it's a destined God. He does not understand what is pain. He does not understand what is suffering. It's just his kind of destiny. It's cold. And so his understanding is, God does not understand what suffering is all about. And therefore, he comes to the point that says, we've got these problems in society because God is not just. And therefore, that's why many people doubt that God exists. And so it gets to my second point, which is the suffering, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that God cares. You see, all things were created by Jesus Christ. You just have to turn to Colossians chapter 1, verse 15, and others. It's not my intent today to go into all these scriptures, but I just want to reemphasize. Colossians chapter 1, verse 15 says, he is the image of the invisible God. He is the firstborn of all creation. He was the first human being that was resurrected and became a spirit being of all creation. For by him, all things, by Christ, by him, all things were created that are everywhere. And he goes on and he says, in verse 17, he is before all things, and in him, all things consist. He maintains them, finally tuned. Who? Christ. Christ is the creator. Therefore, to say that God has no feeling about suffering, did Christ come to earth and suffer for us a most painful death? You and I go through this every time we get towards the Passover season to understand how Christ died for us. In fact, Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15, if we don't believe that Christ resurrected, 1 Corinthians 15, verse 17, your faith is in vain. And so the point is people say, ha, but Christ never died. This is fake news, quote unquote. You can't prove it. Jesus was killed by crucifixion, and that's a proven fact. Historian. In other words, there are a number of non-Christian historians. I'm not saying you can go and look at your Bible. Of course you look at your Bible. And of course you can prove it from the Bible. But people that are agnostics or atheists, they say, oh, well, I don't want to look at the Bible. I want to look at other facts. Okay, so let's look at other facts outside of the Bible.
Non-Christian sources like historian Tacitus states that Christ suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius. He has a man, a proof from a non-Christian source that Christ existed and that he died, and he died with the extreme penalty on the cross, on the stories. A Jewish Josephus, he was not a Christian. He was a Jew, a good historian. He reports that Pilate condemned him to be crucified. Then Lucian of Samosata, a Greek satirist, mentions the crucifixion. Then Mare Bar-Serapion, a pagan, confirms that Jesus was executed. And even the Talmud, the Jewish Talmud, reports that Yeshu was hanged.
So, brethren, there are many non-Christian sources. I mention Yah 6, that state that Christ lived and was crucified. And you and I know the Roman soldiers knew how to kill by crucifixion, and they identified him as dead. And so, the scholarly consensus is absolutely overwhelming and agrees that Christ was crucified. And that is not even looking at the Bible. So, we've seen the world is finely tuned. We know that the Creator died and suffered. He knows what pain is. And we know that he just didn't die, but he resurrected. Timothy Keller, an author and apologist posted on Twitter, it's now called X, on April 5, 2022, a year before he died. And he said, if Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all that he said.
And if he didn't rise from the dead, then why worry about anything of what he said? And that's why Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15, 17, as I mentioned a moment ago, the resurrection is vital. There are many witnesses of Jesus' resurrection. The apostles were martyred. Would you give your life for a lie? For a lie?
Jesus' half-brother, James, he was a skeptic. He didn't believe in his brother, but after he was resurrected, he became converted, and he died as a martyr for his brother, half-brother. That is enough proof. Paul's testimony, he was another skeptic. He wanted Christians killed, and he mentions in 1 Corinthians 15, verse 3 to 8, about many witnesses, even at the time, like 500 people saw him, and he said, and many of them are still alive today. If he was lying, they would have said, ha ha, that's fake reporting, because he's right there, or we stole the body. But the tomb was empty, and the disciples endured persecution because they believed that he had resurrected. There was no doubt. Giving one's life, and not one, many people giving their life for the witness. You're not going to give your life, and many people just because it's fake news. You're not. And the tomb was empty. Oh yeah, the Roman soldiers were told, oh, just say that his body was stolen. But imagine if you, as a god, had neglected that duty, would be hanged. So that clearly is a fake story. So an early church writer, like Polycop, as late as the year 110, like about 80 years afterwards, said that Christ had resurrected. So Christ's resurrection is a provable fact. He died. He suffered. He is the creator. God knows what is suffering. In Hebrews chapter 1 verse 2, Hebrews chapter 1 verse 2, it says that in this last day, spoken to us by his son, whom he as appointed, here of all things, through whom also he made the walls. God made everything through Christ. The Father commanded, and Christ as the CEO, let's call it that, executed and did it. It was delegated to him by the Father, and Christ did it. Christ was the creator under the Father's command and instruction. We also read in Matthew 9 verse 1 to 3 that there was this paralytic man, and he says, yeah, your sins are forgiven. And they wanted to kill him. Christ is able to forgive. That is only an act that God can do. Christ said many times that he would resurrect on the third day. One such example is in Luke 24 verse 7, and you know others, he said, you try to destroy this temple, and in three days and three nights, I will rise up again. You see, we also know when we read at the time of Passover that he was on the cross, and he was in great agony. In fact, before that, he was in such agony that even perspiration came out of his body and as blood. You read Isaiah 53 and a prophecy of Christ's suffering. We covered that during Passover. And so I don't have to go through these scriptures because you know them well. You get down to Hebrews chapter 4, and it says, he sympathizes for us because he went through it. And therefore, he can have compassion for us as a high priest, Hebrews chapter 5. And he said he would be at the right hand of the father, and when he would come again, he would come of power to execute judgment. You read that in Mark 14. You read that also in Matthew 28 that he has all authority. And he says, he is with all of us. In other words, wherever you are, I'll be with you. In other words, he's omnipresent. These are attributes to God. Brethren, I have shown you profound proof points that not only God exists, but also that he cares for us. And why does he care for us? And why does he allow us? Because let's read very briefly in 2 Corinthians chapter 6. 2 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 18.
I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. God is creating a family. For that very purpose, we have to have free moral agency. For that very purpose, we have to be allowed to learn by mistakes. But we will be glorified as children of God. For that very reason, God permits suffering. But he knows what it is because he suffered so that we could be healed and restored and redeemed and have eternal life and be in his eternal family. Yes, indeed, God cares for humanity, and God has a great purpose for you and I. Thank God for his love to so finely tune the earth and to show us so much love because he has a plan for you to be glorified with Christ.
