Recall the Former Days

Lessons From Pentecost for Those Who Are Baptized and for Those Not Yet Baptized

The account of Pentecost in Acts 2 mentions the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the first 120 members of God’s Church, and the baptism of about 3000 more later that day. Baptism was a major part of that Pentecost. We are encouraged in Hebrews 10:32 to “…recall the former days, … after you were illuminated…” There are lessons relevant to our lives now, to remember our own calling and baptism, for those of us who have been baptized. For those not yet baptized, the message that Peter was inspired to give that day to a multitude of people not yet baptized changed their lives. The lessons are still valid today. “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

Having retired in August, 2024, I still serve as an elder in the congregation.  My wife and I are blessed to serve in many meaningful ways.
