“Right-Side-Up” Truth to an “Upside-Down” World: Our John 17:14-18 Job Description

UCG considers the prayer of John 17:14-18 to be a Christ-given “job description” to His Church. As we strive to fulfill that job description by preaching the biblical truth of the gospel to this upside-down world, the results will be two-fold: (1) Additional firstfruits will repent and turn their lives “right side up”; and (2) The world will persecute the Church and accuse it of “turning the world upside down”. We can expect that the persecution we experience will be like what the early New Testament Church of God experienced (as historically documented in the book of Acts). This message gives seven examples from Acts when the Church strove to fulfill John 17:14-18 --- and was accused of “Turning the World Upside-Down” (or equivalent). It then extends what happened then to what the church can expect during this age just prior to Jesus Christ’s return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords --- when He will finally turn this world right side up!
