Songs for the Journey

The sermon presents Psalms 120–134—the fifteen “Songs of Ascent”—as a spiritual pilgrimage corresponding to the fifteen days from the Feast of Trumpets to the Feast of Tabernacles. Each psalm marks a stage in the journey, moving from distress, conflict, and dependence on God toward protection, forgiveness, humility, unity, worship, and ultimate peace in Jerusalem. Together, these pilgrim songs encourage believers to trust God, proclaim the gospel, teach their children, anticipate Christ’s return, and approach the Feast with hope, gratitude, and joy.
