How does the parable of the Prodigal Son apply to us children of the Most High?   Society at large as well as we individuals have sooner or later to come to the point in our lives where we realize that a life separated from our Father and Creator is not worth living. Regardless of the level and magnitude of our poor decisions, we must always remember that it is us who leave our Father’s presence, not the other way around. We must choose to humble ourselves before our Father since it is us and only us who are doing the wrong! Our Father never abandons us, instead, our, at times, poor and shortsighted choices bring us to the brink of disaster.   At one time or another, each one of us turns our back on our Father. This is sad and unnecessary, but unfortunately true. Hopefully, we do not feel separated from our loving Father, but if we do, do we remember His perfect ways and His perfect love He has for each one of us? Have we come to our senses in that we put everything into perspective and have come to see things as they truly are? Let’s humbly seek the presence, comfort and forgiveness of our Father. Because only He can give us lasting satisfaction and a life filled with meaning and purpose!   When our brethren who decided to leave are restored to our Father and to the household of faith, the fellowship of love, our physical and spiritual home, let’s receive them as our Father receives them, as fellow brethren and as guests of honor. This is why we need to closely examine our response to a repenting, restored brother or sister, as we journey to Pentecost, the founding event of the Church of God, the Bride of Christ.
