Why do Christians Suffer?

The book of Job offers insight on the question of why God allows suffering. You can suffer through no fault of your own. Was Job better after all that happened to him? What was God actually showing Job? One lesson is that God is still worthy of praise, even when you have lost everything. Would you worship Him if you lost all? Would you need to be tested to find out? Suffering can be a powerful means by which people grow. The books of Romans and James teach that suffering makes us better. Also, suffering can sometimes be a consequence of what we do. Suffering can be a test. Can it be for God's glory? Does it teach us how to relate to others, to sympathize? Suffering is certainly difficult, but in the end, it can have benefits.
