We can all probably think of activities we have started with great excitement only to have that excitement fade over time. The Bible warns us that we must not let this happen in two areas of our lives, our marriages and our relationship with God. In this sermon Gary Smith warns us to guard against losing our first love in these areas. Since he has given three sermons recently on marriage he uses that subject only as an introduction to the subject then spends most of the sermon showing us how the Bible tells us that we must remain committed in our relationship to God.

Gary Smith was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but spent most of his youth in the Pasadena, California area. He graduated from Ambassador College in 1976 and he and his wife, Liz, moved to Peoria, Illinois. For the next six years he worked as a nursing home administrator in Illinois, Ohio, and Texas.
In 1982, he and Liz began to serve in the full-time ministry. Since that time, they have served in a number of congregations in the Midwest.
Gary and Liz now pastor in Houston, Texas near their two children and grandson.
