Additional Thoughts

Teens need to get into the scriptures themselves and take ownership of their own studies.

• Parents need to know what teens are thinking in order to know how to mentor them and continue to build relationships with them.

• Cover material that has not been specifically addressed in sermons and local Bible studies to avoid too much repetition.

• When the weather is nice try an outdoor setting.

• Set a family Bible study schedule and put the dates on the calendar.

• Once a month take turns having members of the family choose the menu for Friday/Sabbath dinner, have candles, Sabbath appropriate background music, make it special and follow with a short but very interesting family study.

• Enjoy some snacks after study.

• Emphasize that opinion is not the final word in interaction. We need to have a Biblically-based answer.

• Teens enjoy humor.

• Last but not least, each teen needs to own his or her own Bible!
