During the Days of Unleavened Bread God instructs us to eat unleavened bread all seven days of the Feast. At this time, leavening actually pictures sin and the unleavened bread pictures life without sin. In this message we look at the different types of leaven, or sin, that God finds abhorrent. We an learn from the examples He gives when He condemns the sinful behavior of the Pharisees, and Jesus says we should “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.” We need to learn the lessons from leaven given by Christ.

As we approach the Spring Holy Days, I want to talk to you about an emotion that can wound us deeply and leave lifelong scars. What’s worse, you may not even know you have it until the damage is already done. It sneaks up on you and masks itself as something else until it’s got you and then it’s a struggle to break free of it. What am I talking about? It’s resentment and it can happen to anyone. If we don’t recognize it early it will take root and try to weave itself into the fabric of our lives so if we know what’s good for us, we will take time now to try and identify it before becomes entrenched in our lives.

The Sabbath day is a sacred day, marked by a time of worship and devotion to God where believers can experience a deep connection with God and His teachings. However, if we prioritize our own pleasures over our relationship with God, we are breaking the Sabbath and commit idolatry. This idolatry is at the heart of all sin, as our willingness to esteem something higher than God and His way of life causes us to sin. The Sabbath day is blessed and sanctified by God. He rested from all His creation and made it holy. If we treat the Sabbath day with disrespect, we insult God and miss out on the beauty of the Sabbath and His wonderful blessing of this day of rest that God made for man! Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize our relationship with God on His Sabbath day and reap the blessings of delighting in Him calling the Sabbath day a delight.

In this sermon series, we are exploring the process of becoming worthy to escape the tribulation that will someday come upon this world. While we know God is merciful and patient to bring many sons and daughters into His family, there will be a time when each person called must decide who and what manner a person they want to be. Each of these messages has as its goal, helping us to get a clear look into our hearts. God has built this world as a way of getting to know our hearts before we are given eternal life. We will not be given that life unless we build and maintain a relationship with God.

Knowing that Grace has been made available to us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is wonderful yet the question remains, how do we live each day of the rest of our lives? How is grace applied to our lives when we continue to stumble in life? This sermon will discuss how God intends for grace to work in the lives of imperfect people.

In Part 1 we began to explore what ancient Israel's priest’s duties were in the Old Testament. We explored the sacrificial duties of the priests and learned they had many other duties including duties similar to public health officials and building inspectors of our day. The priests’ duties included teaching, being educators as well as judging. In this message, we will examine who God chose for Ancient Israel’s priesthood, and why. We will look into a legal case presented by Israelites that rebelled against Moses, and God’s choice of Aaron and his descendants to lead the Levitical priesthood. The outcome teaches us all a vital lesson.

What does a priest do, and why should we care? In the book of Revelation God reveals His future government will be a theocracy, a merger of church and state. Rev 5:9-10 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, (10) and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” ESV; also, NLT says “kingdom of priests.” In this first of a three-sermon series, we begin to explore what a priest’s duties were in the Old Testament and why. In this way, we can gain a better understanding of what it means to be a priest in God’s “kingdom of priests.”

Law and Grace are talked about together because they balance each other out. If you study the subject, you will find that there is much disagreement as to where and how you balance that out. One fact that is not discussed much is why God waited till the time of Moses to write down His law, and why he waited another 1500 years before Jesus magnified that Law to give what was intended from the beginning. Understanding that will help you place the subject of Grace in a better perspective which will be covered in part 2.

God is our ultimate cardiologist and searches our spiritual heart, understanding the intent of our thoughts (1 Chron 28:9). Ask God in prayer to let you know what His diagnosis of your heart is, and to provide you with the prescription(s) you need for a spiritually healthy heart. King David provided an example of the type of prayer we should ask: (Psa 139:23) Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; (Psa 139:24) And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. This message takes a look at how very important it is for us to consider the spiritual condition of our hearts and ask God to help us have a healthy heart that leads us to eternal life!

Thanksgiving was intended to be more than an act, done once a year, but rather a way of thinking and living where God is recognized for what He has done for us in so many ways both seen and unseen. Today I would like to cover three aspects of thankfulness that if you can begin to master will have profound impacts on your life and your relationships with everyone. Gratitude or the state of being grateful or thankful is so important for the right relationship with God and with our neighbor. Without it, we get self-centeredness which leads to strife. Humility is so important to healthy Christian relationships and gratitude plays a huge part in helping us to remain humble because we are naturally focused on others and not ourselves.

In the past few decades, people in this country have claimed that elections have been stolen or fraudulently obtained. But you and I have been called to be a part of a glorious future in the Kingdom of God. That future so amazing but we can make sure that becomes a reality that no one can steal as long as you learn how to make your calling and election sure.

Everyone from time to time goes through sorrow and its when we need our faith the most. As God helps us get to the other side of sorrow, there is joy when that agony is relieved. Let see what lessons we can learn from this process that Jesus has promised to His disciples.

If the unleavened bread we eat each year, represents the new life we are starting living as one with Jesus Christ living in us, how does that life measure up year over year? Unleavened bread looks drastically different than leavened bread and not everyone appreciates it. When we truly learn to live an unleavened life those around us notice a change in us. So how much change is their in our lives each year as you look back on your spiritual growth? How does our Unleavened bread measure up? How can you measure it and what metric would you use? Today I am going to give you three ways to see how your unleavened bread measures up.

Our minds go to spiritual and physical preparations for the feasts throughout the year. Spiritually our minds first go to Passover and Atonement and Physically we think about Unleavened bread and preparing for the Feast of Tabernacles. But God created all of the season and wants us to be ready to get the most out of them spiritually.

Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it. The history of the church of God is marked by many splits and fractures going all the way back to the beginning. Its important for us to consider how the lack of unity has played a role in this state. God wants us to be one, just as He is One. We need to endeavor to maintain the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace at all times in our lives.
