As children of God we must never lose sight of His precious gift – the promise of eternal life! As we anticipate our future, Jesus Christ encourages His followers to keep their focus on the Kingdom and continually prepare for it. Are we willing to increase our sense of urgency for all that God has promised?

God has offered us an unbelievable gift! His Holy Spirit is free and has endless power, and teaches us truths that we can not discern on our own. If we want to stay on the path leading to eternal life, we must allow the power of God to guide us in our daily walk. Are we remembering to renew God’s gift on a regular basis? 

In Psalm 51, David records that God desires truth in the inward parts. This idea points forward to God’s greater plan, included in the meaning of Pentecost. The first Pentecost marked the birth of the New Covenant Church and the giving of the Holy Spirit to those whom God calls. We discover that through His Spirit, God works within believers to plant His truth deeply in the heart and mind. When others hear our name, what kind of thoughts are we putting into their mind?  The habits and traits that we develop have a direct effect on our name – whether good or bad. In preparing to take on the name of God, are we striving to develop more of Their righteous character?

As followers of the Son of God we are to humbly follow in Christ’s footsteps when He said, “I must be about My Father’s business” (Luke 2:49)

One of Christ’s greatest desires is to present us to Himself as a glorious church that is holy and without blemish. How well are we listening to the words of God which remind us to clean up our lives and grow in Godly character?
