Like the small remnant of the Jewish population that built a small temple in the 6th century B.C., we are the small things of the earth. Composed of dirt and undone by sin, we are nothing until God elects to mercifully intervene on our behalf. And yet, once we understand how small and how hopeless we are, then God can work in us to achieve anything.
