The Bible has many passages about the present age, and that it will end and new world (or age) will begin. The blowing of trumpets on this day reminds us that this present age will end, and the trumpets are an alarm or wake-up call for us to be ready. The blowing of trumpets is a signal that a new King will be the King of Kings. Those who are counted worthy of the resurrection have a special purpose and role in the world to come.
