Discern the Signs of the Times

Jesus was tested by skeptics who asked Him for a sign from heaven. He responded by saying that they could discern the weather by looking at the signs in the sky, but they could not discern the signs of the times. They looked to the physical, but He spoke of the spiritual things they could not discern. What are the spiritual signs of the times that we should discern? Where should our focus be? God's word is quite clear on this subject, for those who believe.
