In 1 Timothy 1:8-11, Paul says there is a "lawful" use of the law, hinting at an unlawful use as well. As a reflection of Himself, God's law shows us how God thinks by defining both sin and love. In verses 12-14, Paul explains to Timothy what his life was like before he met Jesus Christ, and what he was thankful for after his radical transformation. Paul's example offers hope that we can obtain the same grace from God that he obtained.
