Unity and teamwork are essential for the success of any group or team--for families, congregations and church organizations. We should strive for unity except when it would mean disobedience to God. 1 Corinthians 12 makes it clear that every member of the body of Christ is different and essential for the unified work of God. We can help maintain unity by loving and honoring every individual member. Whereas the the "doctrines" of the Bible unify us, placing too much emphasis on "semi-doctrines" tends to divide us. Satan, of course, is always trying to divide us. We must constantly resist Satan's influences and work hard to be united. According to John 17, God wants us to strive for the perfect unity that is shared between Jesus Christ and the Father.

Donald Hooser

Don Hooser is a minister for the United Church of God. He lives in McKinney, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.  He and his wife Elsie had three children, and she died in August 2020.  Don married Judy in January 2022.  Mr. Hooser graduated in 1963 from Southern Methodist University with a degree in mechanical engineering, and graduated in 1966 from Ambassador College, Big Sandy, Texas.  For most of the time since then, he served as the pastor of churches in Ohio, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington. From 2011 until his retirement in 2021, his primary responsibility was answering the many letters written to the Church.
