Amalek was the first enemy to oppose Israel after the nation left Egypt. They attacked when Israel was weak and just learning how to depend on God. Therefore, God declared Israel’s perpetual war on Amalek which will end with the return of Christ. The lessons in this reveal the true enemy of God, Satan the Devil, and his deceitful tactics. Israel’s warfare with Amalek also reveals the mercies of God, for Amalek, Esau’s grandson, is of the family of Israel.

Andy Diemer is the pastor of the Fort Myers, Florida congregation and the associate pastor serving the congregations in Ft. Lauderdale and Vero Beach, Florida. He served as the pastor of the churches in New England from 2014 to 2021. He was baptized into the Church in 1981 and ordained as an elder in 2011. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Cleveland State University. He had a thirty-year career in manufacturing before being hired by the UCG in 2014.
