How far are we willing to go to obey God? In this message, we look at a story of ultimate trust and obedience, even to death, and how we too must be willing to put our complete trust in God, no matter the situation or outcome, that we may have true life – spiritual life - in the family of God.

5 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” HOW DID THEY KNOW THAT THERE WAS A 'SON OF GOD' IN THOSE DAYS?

Hello, Clive - Thank you for your question, and for listening to the message. Unfortunately, the New King James bible (and the original King James) render this to seem as if it was referring to Jesus Christ ('Son of God'), which was not the case. The original words in Aramaic say 'like a son of the gods', and the New Living Translation and New International bibles render it this way, referring to a divine being. In verse 28, King Nebuchadnezzar refers to this being as 'His (God's) angel'. I have not seen any evidence to support that Jesus Christ was revealed as the Son of God to Nebuchadnezzar, or any of the other Babylonians with him. I hope this answers your question, and if you have further questions, I would be happy to answer. Again, thank you for your interest! Ed
