Hard of Hearing
For the hard of hearing, many solutions exist that make communication both possible and easier.
However, a problem many have, for which nothing has been invented, is the inability to really listen. This can be a greater problem than the physical one. Understanding one another is a huge problem. The only solution is to listen carefully and thoughtfully. That is a skill we can learn, but it requires a change in our perception of ourselves and of others. James advises us to be quick to listen and slow to speak (James 1:19). Focusing on this not only keeps us out of trouble, but makes us look wise.
