He is the “certain nobleman [who] went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return” about whom He spoke in one of His parables (Luke 19:12 Luke 19:12He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

). He tells us to pray: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10 Matthew 6:10Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

It is vital that all who trust in God remember, as the apostle Paul reminds us: “. . . The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:11-13 Titus 2:11-13 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

In the meantime, “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14 Matthew 24:14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come.

). Faithful servants of God will continue to fulfill Christ’s command to His followers: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15 Mark 16:15And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
