Brethren from the United States and Bangladesh joined our Indian brethren to observe God’s Feast of Tabernacles at the Grand Mercure hotel overlooking the famous Taj Mahal known as one of the seven wonders of the world.
We enjoyed the Indian tradition of all members staying in the same hotel, eating three buffet meals together and having services in the hotel meeting room. This quickly brought our Church family of 36 closer together.
Services were in English. After each service, brethren gathered together in a large circle and reviewed the messages for our brethren who spoke Hindi. The Feast days were full of daily fellowship, tea time, relaxing in the pool, Bible study and leadership training for the men. Other fellowship opportunities included a bingo night with prizes, two Bible movie nights (The Book of Daniel and Ruth) and a variety show, showcasing international talent.
There was enjoyable fellowship on the rooftop of the hotel, which has a beautiful view of the world-famous Taj Mahal. An enjoyable puppet show was provided by the hotel.
Our Indian and Bangladeshi brethren get few opportunities to swim and the fun and laughter were enjoyed as the children at the Feast jumped and giggled with joy. A couple of older boys learned how to swim after four days of diligent practice. Several brethren took advantage of an afternoon tour of the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. They also visited the home of one of the local members. It was especially enjoyable to get out of the hotel and into the local Agra neighborhood.
You are invited to join your Indian brothers and sisters at next year’s Feast. A visit to India will be a life-changing experience. If you want to travel internationally and you earnestly seek to meet and serve your brothers and sisters in Christ who live overseas, the Feast in India would be an exceptional opportunity for you. You can make a difference by sharing your time, talent and love with your Indian brothers and sisters. There is a need for Church elders and leaders in their congregations to attend the Feast in India in 2024 and share daily messages during the Feast. For all who come, this will be a Feast you will not soon forget.
