2025 Feast of Tabernacles: Lihue, Hawaii
In the beautiful setting of Kauai, Hawaii, 550 brethren kept the Feast together.
Over 550 brethren gathered this year to keep the Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Known as the “garden isle” for its lush greenery and colorful botanical variety, God’s creation delivered on its promise of spectacular beauty. The many beaches, mountains and waterfalls made it quite easy to envision the coming Kingdom of God and Millennium.
Equally as amazing were the messages that expounded on what the Millennium will be like. We learned how healing, empathy, teaching and wise judgment will all play critical roles as we work alongside our King to create the government and society God has always intended for mankind. In addition to regular services, there were three Bible studies, a Bible talk and youth instruction.
Outside of services, there were plenty of opportunities for fellowship and adventure as well. Family day was at Poipu Beach State Park where everyone enjoyed swimming, snorkeling, ice cream and seeing both green sea turtles and the endangered Hawaiian monk seal. Later during the Feast, the young adults enjoyed a hike to Shipwreck Beach and the teens ventured out on kayak to Secret Falls. Many others enjoyed trips to Waimea Canyon, Hanalei Bay, Manawaiopuna Falls (where Jurassic Park was filmed) and the many other sources of natural beauty on Kauai.
One of the things that made the Feast extraordinary this year was the variety of special music we were treated to. In addition to solo pieces, the festival chorale and children’s choir, we also enjoyed a ladies’ choir and young adult ensemble. We were able to donate nearly 1,300 pounds of food to a local food bank, their single largest donation this year.
Keeping God’s Feasts in this garden paradise was certainly a blessing this year, but it pales in comparison to what these days foreshadow. Until then, aloha from all your brethren who shared the time together in Kauai this year!
