2019 Feast of Tabernacles

Lancaster, Pennsylvania

The 700,000 square-foot building houses a conference center, a 135-room hotel, a restaurant, a fitness center and numerous turf fields and hardwood courts for every sport imaginable, all under one roof.

Every day we heard inspiring messages, including sermons on spiritual maturity, the training we are undergoing to serve with Christ in the Kingdom of God and the qualities we must develop to become a leader. On Friday evening, Gary Petty gave a Bible study titled “Seven Reasons Why Jesus Comes Twice.” Each day of the Feast, we enjoyed special music which was especially inspiring and uplifting.

An “Italian Kitchen” lunch buffet with Caesar salad, chicken piccata and baked ziti was on the menu for our Seniors’ Lunch. After the meal, host Andy Diemer addressed the group and Barri Armitage performed a selection from her recent CD. Finally, Ken and Darlene Shoemaker led the group in a sing-a-long.

For Family Day, we enjoyed an activity-filled afternoon on several of the indoor sports courts… a blessing since it was cold and raining outside! Basketball, kickball, flag football and cornhole were on the agenda, while kids took part in a jump rope challenge, hopscotch and other table games. On Saturday night, the family dance got everyone on their feet to the sounds of all types of music, including pop, doo-wop, disco, country and even classical!

As always, the end of the Feast comes too fast! On the Eighth Day, between services, many took the opportunity to share one more meal together at our Southern BBQ lunch buffet, consisting of pit beef and grilled chicken breast smothered in barbecue sauce… a good meal to wrap up a great Feast!

Then, following the afternoon sermon given by Gary Petty, it was time to pack everything up as another memorable Feast came to a close.
