Trust No Man?

Many people take the statement, "Trust no man!" to mean that we should be suspicious of everyone. Don't trust your mate, your minister, your fellow member, your church. Is this what the Bible tells us? What does God actually say about trust, and how should we apply it to our Christian lives?
