We welcome all to join us in celebrating the 2022 Feast of Tabernacles in Jekyll Island! This island provides a millennial-type setting, which adds to the enjoyment of members gathering to worship and celebrate the coming Kingdom of God!
As a well-known state park, Jekyll Island offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, yet provides a variety of activities for everyone in the family.
Activities to consider: visit the 240-acre Historical District, explore miles of hiking trails, walk on beautiful beaches, visit the Turtle Center, bicycle around the island or enjoy horseback riding on the beach. Additional activities include swimming, golfing, miniature golf, tennis and dolphin tours. If you prefer to canoe or kayak, the Tidelands Nature Center offers rentals, as well as several exhibits for live marine animals.
Services will be held in the oceanfront Jekyll Island Convention Center. In addition to daily services, several Bible studies will be available (teen, young adult and general), plus youth education classes will be available for children.
Church activities include: teen and singles activities, a family day at the Beach Pavilion, a senior’s lunch and a family dance. Temperatures in October are expected to be very pleasant, with highs reaching 80 and lows in the 60’s.
A variety of Festival housing is available on the island and members are welcome to make their reservations at the accommodation of their choice. For those who prefer camping, the Jekyll Island Campground offers 18 wooded acres with over 175 tent and RV sites (https://www.jekyllisland.com/lodging/campground/).
Two major airports are located about an hour away in Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia. Additional housing, restaurants, shopping and a smaller airport are available in Brunswick, Georgia. There is an $8 toll per vehicle every time one enters the island.
Taxes: Local tax is 5 percent; state tax is 6 percent, plus a $5 per night Georgia hotel tax.
