During the Levitical period people would become unable to participate in Temple worship because they were deemed ceremonially unclean due to diseases, touching unclean animals or dead corpses., etc. They then were required to go through a ceremonial purification in order to become deemed clean. How does this physical purification they went through relate to us being spiritually pure before God today?
