The most common counterfeit denomination of money in the United States is the twenty dollar bill. If you had a twenty dollar, how would you know if it was real or counterfeit? The only way you can know what a counterfeit looks like you must know what a real one looks like. In order to discern the difference is to have a genuine bill. To discern is to see what it really is. This helps us understand what we need to be able to discern the difference in what is real and what is not. There are many thing we must learn to discern.

Gary Petty is a 1978 graduate of Ambassador College with a BS in mass communications. He worked for six years in radio in Pennsylvania and Texas. He was ordained a minister in 1984 and has served congregations in Longview and Houston Texas; Rockford, Illinois; Janesville and Beloit, Wisconsin; and San Antonio, Austin and Waco, Texas. He presently pastors United Church of God congregations in Nashville, Murfreesboro and Jackson, Tennessee.
