Why is a sacrificial love for one another so difficult? Jesus commanded us to have this love, just as He had this love for us, and stated this would be a sign for all. How can we do this?
God created man with free moral agency and gave mankind His instruction manual of how to qualify to live eternally. But mankind has not trusted (has not had faith) in God’s instructions and opted to follow his own human reasoning apart from God. God nevertheless has shared with us His vision for us (given us hope) through His Holy Days plan, and wants us to commit to follow His instructions (His law of love). And for that purpose He gives us His Holy Spirit, making us the firstfruits of the Spirit (Rom 8:23 – symbolized by Pentecost), and eagerly waiting for the resurrection at His second coming (symbolized by Trumpets).
Jesus Christ said that His followers, His disciples would be known by the love that they have for one another. Here are three principles to help us all grow in Godly love, so Godly love may truly define us all!
Was the Apostle Paul a commandment keeper? What did Paul teach about the commandments of God? Today we will take a look at Paul’s clear instructions regarding the law.
Just before His crucifixion, Jesus gave His disciples a New Commandment; they they would love one another, just as Jesus had loved them. How are we doing in this regard? Who is your brother? Do you love your brother? It's important that we understand the answer to these two questions, if we are going to live up to this commandment.
We're fasting this weekend, partly to "look to the needs of others." We were reminded in the calling for this fast that "We have brethren around the world in desperately poor places...whom we can't even directly help at this time. Ask for God's intervention and help for them." In this message we'll consider two events recorded in the New Testament when members of the Church were called upon to help others in distant lands. There are some good lessons we can learn and apply today. We are all friends and family, sharing the same faith.
Forgiveness is how we are reconciled to God. It’s also how we are reconciled to each other when we have done each other wrong. Forgiveness is how we pass God’s Love along to one another, and demonstrate to God that we are being changed by His Spirit in us.
After being bound for hundreds of years in slavery, The Children of Israel were reminded of who they were and left Egypt with a high hand who, ultimately, formed a great nation when they turned to God. We too now find ourselves in this Caronavirus predicament and being sequestered in our own homes with more time on our hands. David Jones calls for each of us to utilize this time to make ourselves more prepared, look to God and to also come out of this crisis with a high hand through a recipe of love, without fear or spot, pure and simple while remaining alert and humble.

Are we preparing during the times of trial? And are we preparing for the Passover? God is in control and He is preparing us as we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. [This webcast is an audio only recording of the YouTube sermon on "United Church of God Elkhart & Munster, Indiana"]
Each of us are to run the race. That being said, what is the most important part of the race? Do we look out for number 1? We are to honor others more than ourselves. We are to carry each others burdens. We are to serve others.
As we begin to approach the Passover season, we examine ourselves. One area to look deeply into is our hearts. What does our heart love? Has it waxed cold? How can we tell if it has, and what should we do about it? In this message, we'll take a hard look at our own hearts, and what we need to do to make them warm toward God's truth!
In a continuing series from the Book of 1 Corinthians, pastor Philip Aust covers chapters 12 and 13 and goes in depth on the subjects of spiritual gifts and love.
Baptism and marriage are both covenants, or commitments, with God. What are the parallels between these two covenants and how do they apply to us?
God showed His love and mercy to ancient Israel time and time again. He is showing that same love to His church today.
This message examines three scriptures that state "this is the will of God" and reviews the context in which this statement is made in each instance. This will help us see what God expects the focus of our lives to be so that we can fulfill that purpose individually and receive the promise God provides to those who do His will.
Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Mar 9:50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."
