Today’s sermon shows what can happen when we rely on our strength. We will examine how one nation did this, relied on what it thought was a national strength, and they were defeated in war by a powerful enemy. We, as Christians, fight a powerful enemy in Satan. We must not be defeated by Satan when he tries to use our strengths against us. Walls of flesh will not keep out our spiritual enemy. Have we left the back door open to Satan as this one nation did to its powerful enemy? If we have, we will pay dearly.

Randy D’Alessandro served as pastor for the United Church of God congregations in Chicago, Illinois, and Beloit, Wisconsin, from 2016-2021. Randy previously served in Raleigh, North Carolina (1984-1989); Cookeville, Tennessee (1989-1993); Parkersburg, West Virginia (1993-1997); Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan (1997-2016).
